Ruksha Aahaara – Dry foods

Sheeta Aahaara – Cold foods

Alpa anna – Less quantity of food

Laghu anna – Foods which are light to digest

Abhojana / Apatarpana – Deficit intake of food, fasting in excess

Kashaya – Excessive consumption of astringent foods

Tikta – Excessive consumption of bitter foods

Katu – Excessive consumption of pungent foods

Parinate anna – After the digestion of food

Ati vyavaaya – Excessive indulgence in sexual activities

Langana – Excessive running

Ati prajaagaraihi – Excessive awakening during night times

Plavana – Excessive jumping

Ati adhwa – Excessive walking

Ati Vyayama – Excessive exercises

Vega sandhaarana – Forcible withholding of natural urges

Sura – Excessive consumption of fermented herbal drinks

Shukta and Aranala – Excessive consumption of sour and fermented medicated drinks

Bhukte jeeryate – During the process of digestion

Atapa – Excessive exposure to the Sun

Stree samparka – Excessive indulgence in sexual intercourse

Excess physical activities – Especially under strong afternoon sunlight

Excess fasting – Increases digestive fire (Agni), thus increasing Pitta

Diwasvap – Sleeping during the daytime

Krodha – Excessive anger, causes blood vitiation

Shoka and Bhaya – Grief and fear leading to symptoms like dizziness, confusion, fainting, and excess sweating

Sharad Ritu – Autumn season naturally increases Pitta

Greeshma Ritu – Summer season contributes to Pitta increase

Madhyahna – Afternoon (middle third of daytime) dominated by Pitta

Ardha Ratre – Midnight (middle third of nighttime) dominated by Pitta

Madhyam Awastha – Young age, naturally Pitta dominant phase of life
